Beach Bums!

If we could Jeremy and I would live at the beach! Not just any beach.....a beach with white sand and turquoise water, like the one in Grand Cayman. We absolutely love to lay on the beach, play in the sand and snorkel. We were happy to see that Jamie feels the same way. He loved playing in the sand, running away from the waves and going in the water. Spending a week in the Cayman's was great! Thank you Nani and Poppi!

We rented a water bike and took Jamie for a cruise in the ocean. He enjoyed it and we got a very good workout pedaling the bike!

Beach boy!

Jamie loved sinking his feet in the sand and watching the water go over his footprints. We were having fun doing this while watching the sunset.

Turtle Farm

Towards the end of our vacation we took a trip to the Turtle Farm. It was very cool and we got to see several different sea turtles. Jamie liked feeding them but didn't have much interest to touch any of them. If you ever visit the Cayman Islands be sure to check this out!

Poppi picked up a turtle to show Jamie but he wasn't very sure about touching it!

Sting Ray Bay

Today we took a boat tour to see Sting Ray Bay. We took a 20 min. boat ride on a glass bottom boat to the area where all of the sting ray's play. It's in the middle of the ocean but on a sand bar so it was only about 5 ft. deep. The sting ray's have been there for years and are very mellow and come right up to you looking for food. Jamie went in for a few mins. and then was ready to come out. He wasn't quite sure about the big black things that were swimming by him! Jeremy, Nani and Poppi had a blast and were able to each hold one of the sting ray's. I volunteered to stay on the boat with Jamie and take pictures. The captain of the boat was very nice and actually brought one over to me on the boat dock so I could touch it. After the visit here we went to a coral reef garden to do some snorkeling and Jeremy saw his first barracuda! It was about 6 ft. long! Needless to say, it was a great adventure today and we all had a lot of fun!

On the boat after we were done. It was a little chilly with the wind blowing but that didn't seem to bother Jamie. This was his first time being on a boat and he was fascinated with everything going on.

Jeremy playing with the Sting Ray! He was smiling but I could tell he was very nervous! :)

How Jamie felt at the end of the trip.....exhausted!

Welcome to the Caymans!

We are having a blast on our family vacation in Grand Cayman! We've been here since Saturday and have spent lots of time lounging on the beach, swimming in the Caribbean Ocean, and enjoying the tropical drinks (virgin for me)! The weather has been beautiful...not too hot and we've enjoyed some great rain showers that blow through in the afternoon. They only last for about 15 mins. and Jamie loves seeing the rain. Nani and Poppi have been having a great time with Jamie which has allowed Jeremy and I to sit back and relax. In fact tomorrow night Jeremy and I are going out to a nice dinner while Nani and Poppi watch Jamie at the hotel. I'm really looking forward to this! We plan to do more sightseeing the rest of the week and visit some more white sandy beaches. Life is good!

Where we are spending our days.....I know it's tough! :)

After 12 yrs. he still sweeps me off my feet...the love of my life!

Jamie playing in the ocean. He really likes the water temp. It's just like bath water.

He loves it when his feet sink into the sand!

Look at those biceps...way to go Daddy! :)
